DAY 1 | The Descent into the Wild
A Biodiversity Welcome. Your expedition begins in Puerto Maldonado, the vibrant heart of Peru’s Amazon. Following a private city tour, we transition from pavement to water at Puerto Capitanía.
The River Pulse. Board our motorized riverboat for a journey down the legendary Madre de Dios River. Keep a keen eye on the banks; this is the realm of Caimans, Capybaras, and soaring Herons. After settling into your private bungalow at Ecoamazonia Lodge, we trek through interpretive trails to Caimán Cocha. Here, the prehistoric presence of Black Caimans haunts the quiet waters. We conclude the day by witnessing an Amazonian sunset—a breathtaking display of celestial fire—before enjoying a signature dinner and cocktails at our jungle bar.
DAY 2 | Ancient Lakes & Primate Sanctuaries
The Majesty of Apu Victor. Awake to the symphony of the tropics. Today’s trek leads us deep into the primary forest, crossing bridges over hidden gorges to reach Lake Apu Victor. These crystal-clear waters are framed by giant ancient trees. From our panoramic Observation Deck, you’ll have a front-row seat to the lives of Macaws, Toucans, and the legendary Giant Otter.
Monkey Island. After a refined lunch at the lodge, we navigate to a unique primate sanctuary. In the heart of the river, Monkey Island shelters Spider Monkeys, Capuchins, and the elusive Sloth. We finish the afternoon under the golden canopy of another spectacular dusk before returning for a curated dinner.
DAY 3 | Into the Lost Cocha
The Virgin Rainforest. Today is for the true adventurer. We venture into the "Virgin Rainforest," a pristine ecosystem that serves as a sanctuary for the Amazon’s most iconic wildlife. Accompanied by expert guides, we reach Lost Cocha, a hidden refuge where you may spot Tapirs (Sachavacas) and, if the jungle permits, the majestic Jaguar. Experience the stillness of the swamps and "aguajales" from our Observation Deck before a peaceful canoe glide across the mirrored lake.
DAY 4 | The Spirit of the River
Gamitana & Briolo. After breakfast, we set sail for the winding waters of the Gamitana or Briolo Rivers. This is a day of immersion: enjoy a refreshing swim in safe, natural pools, engage in catch-and-release sport fishing, or simply drift while observing the vibrant river life.
Botanical Wonders. We return to the lodge for lunch, leaving the afternoon open for you to explore our Botanical Garden. Discover the secrets of ancestral medicinal plants and tropical fruit trees. As night falls, join us for a Farewell Dinner—a celebration of new friendships and unforgettable memories in our game room and lounge.
DAY 5 | An Amazonian Farewell
The Final Dawn. Savor your last breakfast in paradise as the birds provide a final morning chorus. As we journey back to Puerto Maldonado, you depart not just with photos, but with the indelible spirit of the Amazon rainforest.
