Tour Plan

Day 1: Into the Wild

Welcome to the Biodiversity Capital

Your journey begins in Puerto Maldonado. We’ll pick you up at the airport for a quick panoramic tour of the city before heading to the port.

The River Expedition

Board our motorized riverboat and set sail down the mighty Madre de Dios River. Keep your camera ready—as we delve deeper into the jungle, we often spot capybaras (Ronsocos), caimans, turtles, and exotic herons lining the riverbanks.

Check-in & Caiman Discovery

After a warm welcome at Ecoamazonia Lodge with a signature local drink, settle into your private bungalow and enjoy a fresh Amazonian lunch. In the afternoon, follow our expert guides to Caiman Cocha, a hidden lagoon where Black Caimans and Spectacled Caimans rule the waters.

Amazonian Sunset

End your first day with a spectacular Amazonian sunset—a kaleidoscope of colors you’ll never forget. Follow it up with a delicious dinner and a relaxing evening at our jungle bar and game room.

Day 2: The Giant Otters & Monkey Island

The Sandoval Adventure

Wake up to a symphony of birdsong. After a hearty breakfast, we’ll navigate upriver to the entrance of Sandoval Lake. A scenic 1.5-hour hike through lush tropical forest leads us to the water’s edge.

Rowing Through Paradise

We’ll board rowing boats to glide silently across the majestic lake. This is a dream destination for wildlife lovers: look for toucans, parrots, and macaws. If luck is on our side, you’ll witness the magnificent Giant River Otters fishing and playing in their natural habitat.

Monkey Island

After lunch at the lodge, we’ll take a 5-minute boat ride to Monkey Island. This unique sanctuary is home to a variety of species, including Spider Monkeys, Capuchins, Squirrel Monkeys, and even sloths and coatis. It’s the perfect spot for close-up wildlife photography.

Glow of the Jungle

Enjoy one last golden hour in the jungle before returning for a farewell dinner at the lodge.

Day 3: Farewell to the Rainforest

Morning Melodies

One last breakfast in paradise as you soak in the sounds of the Amazon.

Return Journey

We’ll cruise back to Puerto Maldonado, ensuring you reach the airport or city center in time for your next adventure.
